How to Prep Your Space for a Painting Estimate

A little prep before the estimate visit helps you get an accurate scope and a useful number. Here is what to have ready.

Take Photos of Every Surface

Photos of the rooms, ceilings, trim, and any damage let us scope accurately before we even visit. Include any problem areas — stains, peeling, cracks — so they are in the scope, not a surprise later.

Know What You Want

Which rooms, which surfaces (walls, ceilings, trim, cabinets), and whether you are changing color. A color change often means more coats — knowing that upfront makes the estimate accurate.

Flag Access and Timing

Let us know about vaulted ceilings, tight spaces, furniture that cannot move, and any deadline — a move-in date, an event, a tenant. We plan the schedule and protection around it.

Ask Questions

Come with questions about prep, product, coats, and timeline. A contractor who answers clearly is giving you a real scope. One who cannot is giving you a number.
